The Senior Warden

The Senior Warden holds a vital leadership role, serving as second-in-command to the Worshipful Master.

He supports the Master in governing the Lodge and presides when the Master is absent, helping ensure meetings are conducted with harmony, order, and proper decorum.

Traditionally stationed in the West, the Senior Warden symbolizes strength, stability, and reflection, and is responsible for observing the conduct of the brethren and maintaining balance within the Lodge, particularly during times of refreshment.

The position is both practical and preparatory, as the Senior Warden gains experience in leadership, ritual, and administration, usually in anticipation of advancing to the office of Worshipful Master.
