The Inner Guard

The Inner Guard plays a vital role in maintaining the security, order, and proper conduct of the lodge while it is in session.

Positioned just inside the Lodge door, the Inner Guard works closely with the Tyler to ensure that only duly qualified members are admitted and that the Lodge remains secure from interruption.

He carries out the commands of the Worshipful Master and Junior Warden, responds to alarms at the door, and helps preserve the solemnity of the proceedings.

The role symbolises vigilance, responsibility, and trust, reminding the brethren of the importance of guarding both the physical Lodge and the principles of Freemasonry.
